Annual Requirements

Duty Shift & Time Commitment

Patrollers at Wilmot Mountain are members of the National Ski Patrol and serve Wilmot Mountain. Patrollers are expected to volunteer for a minimum of 80 hours each year to remain in good standing with the program and receive the associated benefits provided by Wilmot Mountain.

Individual patrollers are assigned to one of 17 specific duty-shifts during the winter season as follows. Every effort is made to accommodate personal schedules while meeting coverage needs for Wilmot Mountain.

Shift Schedule Times:

  • Weekday Day: 9:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Weekday Night: 6 – 9:30 p.m.
  • Weekend Day: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Weekend Night: 3:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Note: These are on-duty times. Patrollers should be ready before their shift starts and complete all duties before leaving their shift.

WMSP Patrollers Annual Training Requirements & Commitment

Annually all Alpine Patroller must complete the following:

  • All annual requirements for Wilmot Mountain Patrollers as established by local protocol or area management
  • CPR (Professional Rescuer): one 3-4-hour session
  • OEC Refresher: one 8-hour session
  • On-Hill Chair Evacuation: One 1-2-hour session
  • On-Hill Ski/Ride & Toboggan Refresher:  One 2-3 hour session
  • Duty Day: 1 shift / week. Your duty shift will be assigned but all attempts will be made to accommodate your schedule.
  • Hours: 80-hour minimum. Your first full season is probationary.

Patrollers are also encouraged to participate in optional education programs to improve their first aid and skiing/boarding skills as a patroller.

Annual Dues ($108):

  • National (NSP) Dues: $80.00
  • Division Dues: $10.00
  • Region Dues: $10.00
  • Wilmot Dues: $8.00
